Stopping the K+S saltworks
How we’re working to bring attention to this industrial project that threatens Exmouth Gulf
From Australia to Germany, social media, out of home advertising and a website are just some of the ways we are drawing attention to the damage the industrial saltworks would cause to this special place.
In March 2024 colourful billboards opposing the saltworks appeared all over the German city of Kassel, where K+S, the corporation behind the project have their headquarters.
The billboards feature a dugong, turtle and kingfisher offering ‘Greetings from Australia’ with a post-it note attached urging K+S to stop its plans for the massive saltworks in Exmouth Gulf-Ningaloo before it damages this special place forever.
The billboards have got the media’s attention and has them asking questions, in both Australia and Germany.

On social media we’re showing just how large the saltworks would be compared to Sydney and Berlin.
We’re providing more information to German audiences about our concerns with the K+S saltworks project on this webpage written in English and German.
